If I apply for my second credit card will my credit rating fall?

I'm a student and need good credit to get loans. The one I have now is fine, however, I received a letter confirming my good credit thus far; the one I'm considering offers more rewards, same interest, same everything. Is it bad to cancel the one I have now? Or is it okay to have both? I have only had my current one for a year.

Thank You for any pointers you may offer,

Adam

If I apply for my second credit card will my credit rating fall?
Go for it.

To have the best credit score and profile people need 3 credit card accounts (revolving) with balances below 30% of their credit limit and 2 cars, boats, homes, furniture or personal accounts (installment) all with good long pay history's.
Reply:It is ok to have more than one. You should never cancel your oldest card. Having no old cards (whether you have only a new card or you have no cards) does not your credit rating.
Reply:You'll be ok with 2-3 credit cards.. Any more and it may affect your credit negatively. Most people have at least 2 though..
Reply:Having about 2 to 3 credit cards is okay, to know more about credit card visit,
Reply:As long you keep your credit up you are ok in getting a second credit card and if the new one has better rates and rewards you could just cancel the one you have or keep it if you wish, just make sure that if you get a second credit card to get one that will give you rewards and no annual fee since you have good credit you should not have a problem getting one with beinefits, check out www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com here you will be able to compare all major credit cards side by side on rates and rewards.
