Does paying rent go towards credit rating?

I am on the lease, but my boyfriend physically sends in the rent check each month. Apologies for the dumb question--never lived in an apartment before.

Does paying rent go towards credit rating?
Sorry but no things like rent, utilities, cell phones, land phones %26amp; gym memberships do not report to the credit bureaus unless the accounts are sent to collections.
Reply:It does not go towards your credit score. However, if you would ever become delinquent and 30-60 days over your payment, it could get reported to a collection agency and/or reported to on both of your reports.

Unfortunately, it does not affect your credit score in a positive way at all, it can only go towards hurting your score. As long as you make on-time payments, there are no worries.
Reply:No. Rent is not a debt. Paying your regular bills is expected. If you don't and it goes to collection, it will appear by magic.
Reply:Paying rent DOES NOT show up on your credit report
Reply:Yes it does.It shows you can pay your bills. It will affect your boyfriend, but not you. Unless your name is on the check. This may vary from state to state.
