I have just moved in the US. How do I establish my credit rating?

I am currently living in LA.

I have just moved in the US. How do I establish my credit rating?
Get a card and pay off the balance each month. Start out with a major store card like Target, Sears, Best buy, Macy's, etc because they give them to anybody. Once you've purchased stuff with it and paid off the balance for a few months go for a mastercard and repeat.

The trick is to build your credit without falling into debt.
Reply:maintain a steady employment history........open a checking account. maintain the account with no bouncing checks. open a savings account and deposit a certain amount into it every payday. the easiest credit is to purchase a car. save up for the deposit, usually $5,000 for the deposit on the car. pay the car loan on a regular basis, and on time.... in 6 months you will get a credit rating...apply for a bank credit card from the bank that you do business with. maintain that for about a year and you will be set good... it is important not to get too many credit cards.....when you have a credit card, pay it as agreed for good credit ratings. it takes time to establish credit, so be patient....
Reply:First take a credit card from your bank, use it and always pay it off in time. Then you can take more credit cards and pay it off in time, and soon you will get good credit score!
Reply:get a credit card and pay it off every month. Also, get a loan and pay it off as quickly as possible. Even if you don't need a loan for anything. This will help you establish credit and build a good credit history.
Reply:What I did was I had something really expensive that I could purchase with cash. I asked the bank to give me a loan for that amount and put the cash in a savings account with them to pay on the loan. I also asked them to set me up with a credit card, with the lowest interest rate possible.
