I know I might be being paranoid but about 2 years back I lost my photo driving lisence. I want to check everything is ok (i hope no one is using it for other reasons).
I applied for loans last year and i was turned down due to my 'credit history' this might be because i didnt at the time have a credit card.. but im not sure. Any help would be great :)
How can I check my credit rating?
try experian.co.uk. i think you can do it for free
Reply:When I joined http://www.zopa.com/ZopaWeb/ I got a free credit rating. You can join online.
Reply:If you didnt make a police report of it 2 years ago, then make a report of it now at least so that you wont be liable for many of the debts incured by the party that found your DL and failed to turn it over to the DMV. Your request of a duplicate DL should render you an approximate date as to when you realized it was lost or stolen? But if you have never had a bank loan or a payment plan or a credit card for any merchandise in the past before now, then you wont have a credit report. And everyone with that sort of history is turned down from reputable corporations that rely on the trust of the credit carriers and credit reporters in order to not lose too much of a substantial profiteering from merchandise received. KIND OF MAKES YOU WONDER WHO IS EDUCATED ENOUGH TO GET A JOB IN THAT LINE OF WORK. AND HAVE THE ABILITY TO ERASE OR BOOST ONES OWN OR FRIENDS CREDIT STATUS
Reply:I'm concerned about possible identity theft myself since MasterCard is always insistent I keep over maxing a card I cut up 5 years ago and thought I'd closed the account on.
I'm in Canada but I wrote letters directly to TransUnion and Equifax which included their online "request credit check" forms. Here at least, if you mail in your request they send it to you free. I should have them back in a few days.
Go to the websites for the credit bureau's in your country and check under something like "see my credit report".
Good Luck.

Like The Others Before Me Try Experion and Inform DVLA about your licence.
Reply:Yahoo! Finance offer credit checking thorugh Experian http://uk.biz.yahoo.com/cr.html
Reply:go to www.annualcreditreport.com and get all three credit reports
Reply:freecreditreport.com
Reply:Ok there are 3 credit check agencies that the financial world use. It will either be Experian, Equifax or Call Credit. If you write to each, enclosing £2 fee and include in your letter the following details: Your full name and any other names you have been known as. You current address and list of all address you have lived at over last 6 years with the relevant dates. Your date of birth.
You can visit the websites of each and get online credit reports emailed to you, but these cost about £12 each. You can sign up for the monthly deal (you get a month free usually) and get your free credit check then remember to cancel the deal before you pay any more money, but writing is I think the cheapest and most hassle free.
Visit http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking... for more info including a template letter for each of the agencies.
Reply:tray experian they do free credit checks or go into yr bank they'll do one free of charge and go threw it with you
i got turned down for a mortgage 2 yrs ago and could understand why i went into my bank and they got my credit score/report it was a right mess my handbag had been stolen 6 mnth earlier and although i had cancelled everthing things had still been taken out in my name and not paid for the police where called in the fraud team at my bank where great but to be honest somethings are still ongoing/showing now so do it asap and report anything thats not right
Reply:If you apply online at www.experian.co.uk it costs £12 but if you do it by post, it costs £2. You can get free credit reports but it usually means cancelling a subscription to something before you start getting charged (usually a month after you get the report). Personally, I would rather pay experian, who are one of the main credit checkers in the UK, at least then you know that your details are safe.
Reply:Exerian are the best ones in my exerience, heres their link! Good luck!

Reply:Try credit expert they will tell you all the searches that were done in the last few years .
Although sometimes it can just be that you ve maybe not had credit in past which lowers your score believe it or not or simply not on the voters roll
Reply:experian is the best for the credit rating.
also I hope you have informed the dvla about your photo liscence. My partner lost his a couple of months back and when contacting dvla they just sent him another replacement free of charge.
Reply:you can get a free credit rating done on experian.co.uk
