I'm starting to get all the stuff sorted out with the credit card company, but there is a lot of over limit fees. And late fees as I was unknowingly making less than the minimum payment on a balance much higher than I thought it was. I have the actual card, so I had no reason to suspect a problem.
So, how can I make sure my credit rating will not be affected as a result?
Thank you!
Somebody ripped off my credit card #, how to maintain credit rating?
contact al three major credit bureaus immediately, put a fraud alert on your credit file while continuing to deal with credit card company.
You are allowed to recieve free credit reports from all three bureaus, when you file a fraud alert.
Good luck.
experian, transunion, equifax

Reply:Did you tell the credit card company??????????
Reply:Small steps like paying your bills on time and using only part of the credit available to you. Also use your credit cards for making small payments regularly, so that it is reflected in your credit record. More tips available at http://www.acreditlibrary.com/buildcredi...
