How can i get the credit rating so they will issue me a credit card?

I have lived overseas for years and closed out all my accounts. Now no one will issue me a credit card even though my credit is excellent.

do you have a cell phone? Are you renting a house? there are many things that can help build your credit. Go to somwhere like Best Buy and apply for a credit card. they'll normally start you out with one around 300 bucks or so... you don't even have to spend a whole lot there... a couple cds, a game, and a dvd or 2. spend something like half... then in three ti five months. apply for another credit card. from a real card company. just pay your stuff off... and you'll be swimming in the offers in no time... Just be careful on how much you spend!

they seem to be the easiest people to get a card from. if that doesnt work, then go to visa, discover, amex.... just keep applying. you'll get one soon.
Reply:Best to stay away from credit cards. They help nobody but the card companies. Go to a bank that has a debit card issued by visa or Master card. Then you don't have to worry about the interest rates. You only spend what you can afford from your checking account.
